Of course you have to play. Anyone who says they “live for the moment” is lying. But to go so far ahead (like 20-30 years) is a little depressing, that’s all.

Why would it be depressing to go that far? It is quite exciting actually - what, with all the potential technology and increased knowledge of the universe!

So, what is the reason? Old age, perhaps?

Half of these are pretty much "get a lovely degree from a nice redbrick, settle down in somewhereshire, have two kids and a puppy and join the P.T.A." :lolwut:

Ideally, I will have found my "soulmate", although I doubt I'd get married because I'm not exactly its strongest supporter, but things change. No kids (ergh), hopefully we would travel a lot, and live either in Paris or America - maybe both, if we were rich. Job I'm unsure of, my current interests/ abilities suggest something linguistic or law-based.

Alrite mate, if you're aspirations do come true, set me a job involved with National Security

As in National Security, US? That is, if I live in America and stand for president.

I am serious - I am an individual, not your average Joe Bloggs.
At 40 I hope to have a good job that's a career, maybe married or in a relationship, maybe with one or more kid.

I would have liked to have travelled and perhaps learnt a language.

Age of 40:
At least one child, no marriage though.
Living across from Roath Park, Cardiff... such a nice view in the morning!
Running the family businesses & start my own hopefully
Lifestyle: Taking it easy...
Living happily with a nice, faithful man. Not that interested in getting married.
Have 2/3 kids, adopted.
Working for a large translation firm, hopefully doing more fiction than non-fiction.
Enough money to live comfortably on but not enough to warrant buying anything like a flashy car or overly large house.
Living in either Cardiff, Southampton or Germany xD

I'd definitely hope to be abroad. Canada seems nice, yet hard to get in to.

Not too bothered about money, as long as I get to travel.

- Possibly married to a like spouse
-A highly skilled violinist
-A highly skilled pianist
-1st-Class Degree with masters and PhD (ideally at Oxbridge or top American - Harvard, Princeton etc)
-Radical career change: either company founder dealing in future technologies or mayor/prime-minister-elect (Or if at top American uni, after living there for many years, run for President)
-As per last - propose a World Congress (if not already existing) and put myself forward as President.
-Have impacted/going to impact the world.
-Have numerous degrees especially in sciences
-Have many children/or making preparations to begin: at least 5-7 strong healthy children; maximum 12-13 offspring to be heirs. (Have them all sent to top private schools whether abroad or country of residence; endeavour to heighten potential for genius in all of them; focus on enhancing their cerebral function:wink:
-Endeavour to marry a woman of Germanic descent to mix genes to make strong, superior children
-Cashed up funds to purchase longevity drugs
-Funding space projects
-Written many novels, books etc
-If in existence, scrap American presidency and UK PM-elect and move to Africa and live there for many years and stand as President for United States of Africa (search it- it may come within the next 10-15 years)
-Leading specialist in many fields.
-A continuing high-performance, high-functioning brain.

The funny thing is, I am already preparing for a lot these things - 91% are ideally achievable. The other 9% depends on the country I reside in and the existence of many factors.

P.S. I am deadly serious.

Good for you, I don't think you can be too ambitious... you can accomplish what you want in the limits of the universe - and what you say is possible, although i'm not sure you can be PM of 3 different countries and I don't know if you can do that many degrees.

I find this thread makes me feel down.
Plans are what makes god laugh and all that jazz :h:

By the age of 40?
I would like to be someone who I would have admired when I was 18.
I would like to have defied people's expectations of me.
I would like to appear successful.
I would like having someone around who laughs at my jokes
and can get rid of spiders who sneak into wherever i live

if marriage, kids, house, car, various material possessions, whatever help me get that then cool.
but i don't think they're necessities for the above.

i will probably find this list in a few years time and feel really sad.

Thank you for your support - at last, an optimistic person!

About the PM and President matters - I did not say I would become all three. I said, however, that depending on which country I reside in, I would stand for elections there - not a leader of three countries haha!

I may be optimistic and ambitious, but I am not silly. About the degrees - I heard that, after obtaining an undergraduate degree, one can take a wide range of masters, depending on their qualifications and suitability.

What's wrong with wanting those things though? It's not out there amazing but all a lot of people ma want from life is enough money not to have to worry and a happy family life. IT takes all sorts to make the world go round  just seemed like you were scoffing at people who want that life when its pretty much what the majority want. You can be highly successful but have that lifestyle. We would be living in a strange world if nobody wanted to reproduce and live a quiet life wouldn't we
Assuming I haven't offed myself by then (which is pretty much 50/50 right now):
Living in either: London if I stay in the UK, capital cities in maybe a Nordic/Germanic country or NYC/San Francisco/Seattle/Portland in the US.
Nice flat/apartment in the city, really don't like the idea of living in suburbs with a long commute to work for the sake of having more space I don't need/a garden.
A job I genuinely like, this would be more important than the following thing.
Enough money/time off to travel a good amount.
Steady relationship, don't care about marriage.
Maybe or maybe not kids, not really interested in the idea at the moment but can't say how I'll feel in the future.

No I meant like become president of one country, leave; become another countries etc.

And ah nice, that sounds pretty good. I don't really have a life plan other than I want kids, I want to be a writer of some sort for a period and make a mark on the world. I just want to learn right now

By the age of 40: where do you want to be living? Relationship status? Offspring status? Job? Life style wise?

Living in San Fransisco close to Pixar, where I'd like to work. Or some other animated film producing companies like DreamWorks So I want to be an animator, film maker, producer that sorta thing or maybe teaching at some university animation or something.
I don't really care if I'm married or not. I wouldn't mind having a boyfriend, maybe a little boy but no more. Actually hope i have a boyfriend, it seems I'll never do.
Life style status? Well hopefully well embraced by the filming production society. And balancing a well earned dreamed job with a not so dreamed but comforting nice family, and friends.
