WOW someone else in the world who doesn't get the whole children thing. We are few and far between. I don't hate them, as in it is necessary that they exist, but i don't want anything to do with them.

Its your choice, but I should ask both you and zooropa, how exactly does this come into the relationship context? You want a long term relationship but without ever having kids? Do explain...
I'm a girl and I'm really not keen on children. They don't like me and I don't understand the joy of them. Plus I think pregnancy and childbirth are hair-raising enough to read about let alone to experience.
I'm quite happy to sit the whole thing out and be everyone' mad Auntie Cat who sends killer birthday presents.

Because not everyone wants to have kids? They would rather enjoy each others company and not have to spend years raising a child, looking out for it, caring for it and paying for it. You don't need kids to be complete in a relationship.
How old are the girls that are saying this? Fair enough I said I never wanted kids when I was 17/18 but a lot of people change their opinions when they are in a long term loving relationship. I've not changed mine now that I'm older. (and wiser)
If you read i haven't said i don't like kids-i answered the question that he is probably not the only one who hates kids!
Sorry. Misread you!

I don't get this either. Yes you can have a relationship but I don't see how it can be that bit more 'wow' without even the prospect of having kids. (I'm talking about the people who go into relationships saying they will never EVER have kids, not the ones who don't know yet or who'd like to but can't)
Old enough to know that I am not a fickle person who changes their mind left, right and centre. I'm afraid the arguement commonly used 'you'll change your mind when you're older' bears no weight with me.
