I got an 18+ Oyster, topped up £5, made a single journey and it took £1.80! Surely that is the adult fare? Maybe you have to register it?

Single journey fares aren't any cheaper on an 18+ Oyster, the saving only comes in if you buy a weekly/monthly/annual travelcard.

Get it done at the ticket office of the tube station, for some reason mine won't apply discount online or at a electronic ticket booth.

Follow your own link. Click on 18+. Monthly travel card. I'm off by a view pence since I was doing it on memory. For zones 1-2.

That is such a pain in the ass. My parents were going to do it via their card over the phone. Typical TFL cocking things up. Again.

It was in reply to the person who said - 'Oyster, topped up £5, made a single journey and it took £1.80! Surely that is the adult fare? Maybe you have to register it?'

Thanks.

Sometimes it does that if it doesn't recognise that you get a discount. Just go to the station and explain and they will give you a refund of the difference. (It happened to me once).
