At A level,
A=120 points
B=100 points
C=80 points

to get the AS just halve the A level..

(is it half or halve?!)

cheers
I think half is a noun and halve is a verb so in that case it would be halve :smile:

Erm, I was just wondering, if the entry requirements for a course are 240-320 points (depending on combination), then what would that be expressed in grades?
I got an offer for a course that requires these points with the German qualification I have, so I assume it sort of matches those points lol So what would that be in grades? Thanks !!

Okay, I just saw the table in this thread :rolleyes:

So would 320 be like AAB-ABB?

And 240 would be ABC-ACC or something?

When I used the tariff calculator (http://www.ucas.com/higher/tariff/calc/calculator.html), AAB is 340. 320 points will be ABB. There are lots of grade combinations to achieve the points (e.g. 240 points can be achieved by the grades CCC, BEE, BCD, etc..). I would recommend you to use the tariff calculator to calculate your points (refer to link given above).

ABC is 300 points (A=120 B=100 C=80. Therefore 120+100+80=300 points). ACC is 280 (A=120 C=80 C=80. Therefore 120+80+80=280 points).

240 points could be CCC too.

LOL This is SO complicated :p: But thanks anyway ! I have no idea how many points I have because I don't have British qualifications. I just know that I got an offer for a course that requires a minimum of 240, so that means I have at least CCC lol I think I am better than that tho :p: I'd say I am probably around ABC, which would be 300 points. Oh well lol. I'll just see what happens :p:

You're welcome.

If you see the site I gave you, it's only for British qualifications (AS/A-levels, Scottish highers/advanced highers, etc..).

It's strange that you got an offer that requires 240 points from Kingston (saw the offer in your signature) when you don't have British qualifications. :confused:

I never bothered to work out how many I actually got till now... 550! If only that actually meant something.

Oh, no, the offer is unconditional, as I already have my qualification. It's just that I know the minimum entry requirement for that course IS 240 points so I know that my grades are at least 240 points worth lol I was just rying to figure that out to estimate my chances at other unis lol Complicated :wink:

You know the A Level points in a subject cancels out AS points in that subject. You don't get to add them together.

Yes,but even my average results add up to 540, 'cos of General Studies being a free extra grade :biggrin:

Flully aware, unless i've done something wrong:

Double AVCE ICT - AB (220)
Business Studies A2 - B (100)
Economics A2 - B (100)
General Studies A2 - B (100)
Maths AS - D (30)

adds up to 550?
Ah, thus proving the problem with UCAS points. That AVCE's are grossly overvalued.
