Lets see if anyone here can guess what I have

OK i have a few health problems i've had for a while now.

Firstly, very rarely i get such a sharp pain around my prostate area (above rectum?) that i can barely move. it feels like being impaled  This happens maybe once a fortnight.

Secondly, sometimes when i'm laying down trying to goto sleep and just woken up i have what i think feels like a heart attack. I cant move, if i do move it feels like my heart would be torn apart. Its like the worst stitch you could imagine but higher up the chest. I literally cannot move, so when I get it I try and stay as still as possible and try not to breath, only expanding lungs as little as possible to try and breath without moving my chest. This happens so rare though, like once a month if that.

Thirdly, I've been having lower back pains for a while now. Its not very bad, but only hurts when i bend over backwards to stretch or when I just wake up.

Could the first two and third be related? Like a cancer growing inside of me? :frown:

I'm thinking of going to the doctors to be sure.

I actually get that chest pain reasonably frequently and have done for as long as I can remember, usually if I move from a weird position. If I breathe shallowly for a few minutes it goes, but if you try to breathe normally it really kills.

If that's what you're talking about then it's normal I think. Still go to the doctor cos of your other symptoms though.

Sounds like you could be having
1) sort of "internal rectum cramps", happens often with people who have a tendency to obstipation, i.e. after a long and stressfull "session" on the loo.
2) a blockage of the so called "costo-vertebral" joint which is a little joint between your ribs (=costae) and the appropriate vertebra. The ribs don't just stick out of the vertebrae, there are ligaments and everything there and if you have lain wrongly the joint might become slightly misaligned and cause the above mentioned painful sensations. The best is to try and breathe right into the pain, often the blockage goes away after a few deep (and painful) breaths.
3) Could be your kidneys or the "ileo-sacral" joint which is part of your pelvis. It blocks easily and causes pain mostly in turning motions (sweeping a floor).
Going to the doctor seems sensible to me, even if it does not seem lifethreatening.

You would probably be tall and thin. You'd cough and it would not get better.
But yes that can be the cause of acute dyspnea.

Ditto. You just have to breathe slowly and it goes very quickly. It's like a stitch round your ribs/heart.

I'd go to the doctor just to make sure.

The shooting rectal pains, and sometimes up my urethra, I have once every few days. Never lasts for more than a split second.

It may have something to do with extensive spine surgery, hooks against spinal cord etc... but don't know.

i get that chest pain too, went to my doctor she blamed heartburn but i know its not, after researching i believe it is the costo vertebral joint thing too, someone also advised me that, and it doesnt harm me cus iv had it that many times to know its nothing serious, just feels that way it hurts so much but then goes after 30 seconds to a minute of breaths.
