Sorry to hear that. My mate - an A grade student - got rejected from King's, which was his first choice as well.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Good luck with your other options. Try and stay positive- I was rejected from my first choice (Cambridge, history) but Durham offered me a place the day after my (awful) interviews. Something will turn up and you'll be happy when it does!

thanx! i'll try and stay positive, but its hard i jus dunnno wot i done wrong, its even more worrying because medicine is all if ever wanted to do i have no 'back up' plan if everything goes disasterously wrong! i just can't imagine me doing anything else. However i do believe everything happens for a reason. xx

Sorry to hear that Sam, King's loss :frown: Imo though, UCL and Imperial and much better anyway. Glad to hear you are staying positive and that you haven't lost any of your determination  These things just happen, medicine is overly subscribed so it is very normal to get rejected from say 1 or 2 places but then be taken up by your other choices - plus all your other choices are really lovely, I wouldn't hesitate going to any of them!

I think that for medicine, King's and UCL are much better - the medical schools they have are more world-renowned.

By the way, I know someone who turned down an offer to do Medicine at Cambridge because he wanted to go to King's instead.

Times are changing. KCL and UCL used to be better than Imperial because the course at IC was pretty crap at the beginning (but that was just because the course was new so it took time to settle down). Now IC is pretty much up there with the rest of the excellent medical schools. I do agree that it isn't as world-renowned (yet) though but it's just going to take time

Ah cheers Lucy! u really know how to cheer me up!
I think staying positive is the best way to tackle such situations- i know i have tried and have something genuine to offer-its the best i can do and if its meant to be it shall be?
Hows your decision making going?

I'm sure you have much to offer as a prospective medical student, it's just unlucky that medicine happens to be such a popular course. At my school every medical applicant to Nottingham was rejected pre-interview but I think that each and every one will become great doctors. I definitely wouldn't take a rejection as a defeat of you as a future doctor, you'll all be snapped up soon enough

As for myself, I am presently trying to weigh up UCL vs Imperial (a bit silly because I have yet to receive offers from either  ) but right now my sole worry is my chem module exam tomorrow  ! Infact, I better get off and do a bit more last minute revision

hey, commiserations to you... my friend went through exactly the same thing and she was devastated. It's such a pity so many bright students get unlucky.. but take care yeh? I'm sure you'll be an asset to another great uni.

hey.i'll bet you get an offer from another school so dont worry.
like every1 says, medicine's just a really popular course.means you can have great grades n all but still dont get to your top-choice.its unfair bt thats just the way it is.at least you know its no fault of yours.imagine getting rejected for a really unpopular course.lol.
hope all goes well n hang in there.

Yep, benzoic acid!

Chem Nuffield is harder than Edexcel (and Chem Salters is harder than OCR).
