To be fair, I don't expect an Italian to know much about English literature.

It was sweet the way he and the team reacted when Jeremy Paxman was laughing and joking about it, but it was very funny, one of the best moments in UC recently.

apparently Manchester Uni have their own UC coach. I wonder if any other unis do... =S

Ian Bayley is at Oxford Brookes. I'm sure he must give the team some help, although evidently without quite the same degree of success as Stephen Pearson at Manchester.

I might just be getting the jitters because we're filming our episode on Saturday, but I found tonight's episode did not agree with me at all! Only got three starters before the buzzer :s

Ha! Since I got my Pembroke College Cam rejection last month I've stopped enjoying seeing them do so well in this season and the previous one. In fact I want to beat them one day now to show them that it's their loss :')

Might I ask if you've done any special studying/preparation for it at all? I realise that must seem absurd as anything could be asked, but the standard of a lot of the competitors and the knowledge they have just makes me think that they must have done an awful lot of reading.

I've been listening to lots of famous passages of classical music, and trying to learn a few Booker and Nobel prizewinners. Other than that, mostly just hoping that some nice questions come up for me and that the other team aren't faster than us on the buzzer!
