The Student Room Group

I'm going CRAZY!!!!!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's building work right outside my bedroom window from 7:30am until 6pm. I can't do anything about it, and I can't have double glazing installed because I'm renting the room. It SUCKS. I can even hear it with earplugs. ARGH!!!!! And it's even on a Saturday! :frown:

What can I do? I'm really tempted to go break the drill so I can have a lie in one day. My work and entire life is really suffering cos of this :frown: Help :frown:

go to the uni library!
the work wont be going on for long, if its council work (i.e. on teh roads etc) you can see when it'll be done and complain that its disrupted your life

I've got my living room for work. It's...erm...cosy. Desk, small sofa (no, not big enough to sleep on  :bawling: ), not much else.

I could sleep over at my boyfriends...he's miles away from lectures though... So I'd have to get up early anyway! Lol. I'll try that though.

And i take it you will be getting lots of sleep at your boyfriends..

:bawling: This time next year!!! :frown: :frown: Although the drill might stop soon. They're knocking a building down then rebuilding it and doing a basement thingie. It's been going on all summer...

Double buggeration

Sleeping pills over the counter, they really do work.

Have you tried wax earplugs? For me, they block EVERYTHING out. Those plasticy or foamy ones don't do anything but the wax ones do - you can get them from boots.
Reply 13
can you explain your condition and be moved to another part of the building where you cant hear it?
Reply 14
If its going on for such a long time i think you should move before your life is totally ruined.

er yes this thread was dead but you brought it back to life to say that?
Not a lot you can do but wait until it's finished or complain to the council. Try heavy sleeping pills, Good luck x
