Societies at UCL- info please

What do would you typically be doing if you join a society? For example, what would you do in the Business, Economics and finance, and football societies? Also, how can you become a committee member and what roles will you have if you do?

You go to their meetings, you attend their socials... I don't know about the Business Economics/Finance societies, but for the Football society I'd imagine you'd go to practice with the other members, play for the society and go to their socials.

You can become a committee member in March, that's usually when the voting for the society committee members happens. The committee traditionally have a President, Treasurer, Secretary etc etc. When you have the society AGM, you might have to stand up, say what you're running for, why you'd be good at it, and then the members of the society would vote for you. As for the roles, they vary on which position you have (Secretary obviously takes minutes and send out emails, Treasurer obviously deals with the money).
