So tired, all the time

Lately I've been feeling really exhausted all the time, and very teary and just generally sad. i can't be bothered to go out, or do work, or talk to people, I just wanna sit and watch TV al day but when I do that I feel really guilty for not doing anything :frown:

I went out last night, and it was fun, but today I just feel really sad and tired again!
Stupid thing is, my insomnia seems to have been better for a couple of months and I've been sleeping much better, but in the last week or so I've just felt really flat :frown:

Anyone know why/indentify? :bawling:
Is there a possibility that you've got PMS?

No. Wrong time.
Glandular fever?

I was in bed for two months, too tired to do anything, tearful all the time etc.
Also maybe anaemia? that made me really really tired.

Had glandular fever four years ago, its not like that sort of exhaustion... That was horrible though.

EDIT: Not sure about anaemia... I don't know anything about my blood

I've just been diagnosed with anaemia and those were my symptoms.
Just a week into some light iron supplements and I feel great... I'd really advise a blood test
I think it's either mind depression or you need to change your diet. Lots of fruit and veg, energy food! Or you could get iron supplements and stuff but they clog up your bowels.

I suggest you visit your doctor who can arrange for you to have some blood tests to check for anaemia. If thats not the case your doctor will be able to explore furthur possible causes.

I'm constantly knackered and always feel sleep deprived. Thats uni for you! Even when I stay in and go to bed at a reasonable time, I'm still tired the day after.

i'm also constantly tired... and the weird thing is i used to go to bed around midnight (or even later) and now it's around 9 p.m. when i start falling asleep so badly that i have to go to bed
I can't remember the last time i wasn't knackered!
gas_panic!
I can't remember the last time i wasn't knackered!
:dito:

To OP: Maybe you should get checked for anaemia though, just in case - I felt like that and it turned out to be low iron stores - make sure you get the ferritin levels checked as well as the haemoglobin thing or whatever it is, as low iron stores can make you bad but apparently doctors used to only check the other thing (I'm not good with medical terms ) so my mum was bad for ages without knowing why.

It might just be general tiredness though, or some mild depression (sometimes I get a flat depressed feeling for no apparent reason) I hope you feel better soon :hugs:

With being tired all the time at uni, I think diet has a big part to play. Make sure you're eating all your food groups!
Take up swimming. I go when I feel stressed, tired and unmotivated. It really clears your head and gives you a massive energy boost.

The less you sleep, the better, your body gets used to it. - but if you sleep less, make a point of keeping the number of hours you sleep constant.

If you sleep 9 hours on one day, 8 on another and eventually 5-4 hours, you will definitely feel tired.

The body cannot cope with changes. Taking naps, is actually a bad idea.
Planning your time and go to sleep early is a - yes.

I'd also suggest trying to do exercise or something like yoga. I've found yoga particularly energising, really gets the knots out of your body and gets you feeling active even after a hard day at school/work.

Could also be your diet, do you eat healthy food? Junk food makes people feel tired, try and eat high carbohydrate. Try eating more like spaghetti and brown bread and drink more water.

if i was you, id just go do more exercise. 2 weeks doing none, i felt tired all the time. then, after 3 days of going to the gym i felt much better, refreshed and stuff!

I've been eating healthily, I've been doing enough exercise and I'm still knackered. To add to it I've come down with a cold :frown:

Thanks for all your help though guys, I'm gonna go to the doctors I think.
