Chemistry with management degree jobs?

Hi everyone.

I am thinking about doing a chemistry with management degree, and i was wondering what job opertunities would be open to me. i want to do some work in the industry at some point next year, as i am taking a year out. as well as doing some mroe as-levels. so i was just wondering if anyone had any idea what jobs i could get from this degree, i am aware i can go into different parts of the industry like pharmacuiticals, polymers, catalysts and metals research, is there anything else which i could possibly do with this degree, and if there woudl be any advantages of doing a pHD assuming i am inteligant enough,

any help would be much appreciated (rep will be given for useful information)

A friend of mine recently finished an MSc in Chemistry. He's doing very well now as a trainee manager for Tesco. Just think about it; 4 years in Chemistry and now learning how to stack oranges.

well you did use the word MANAGER there so it can't be too bad, managers get more money, and well i know from past eperience managers don't do much work(or is that just my dad??) but thanks anyway for the information, but i want to do something in the chemicals sector of the market, although management is good
Lose management - complete waste of time.

Despite what Howard says, there are very many opportunities for chemistry graduates - however getting into the industry is becoming more difficult (economic pressures from the far east). You are pretty much eligible for the full range of graduate jobs with a chemistry degree.

If you want to be a proper chemist then a PhD is really the way forward - certainly your prospects in industry are better and you'll find it easier to get research positions.
