yes but the question has cos [2x], the normal way cannot be used as with cosx. You have to change it to end up with only x.
If you know another way .. then do that, but I don't think there is one.

Oh okay .. heres the answer without use of identity:
cos 2x = -0.9 .......x = ½arccos[-0.9] ......... x ≈ 77.1° etc. ... e.g 180 - 77.1 = 102.9°
