Firstly, how did you get mono?

Just don't share drinks, don't kiss anyone, and stop sleeping around.

Heh - Ive had mono, or glandular fever as its called in the UK.
I think basically you cant share drinks, kiss anyone until its passed. Also, its reccommended you rest, as it can knock you off your feet. Try to avoid doing anything strenuous.
You might want to tell the last person you kissed that they should get checked for mono aswell, or they may start a little epidemic in Texas.
Hope that helps.

About 50% of people contract the Epstein Barr virus (which causes glandular fever/mono) before they are 5 - just because kids are dirty little creatures. At that age it doesn't necessarily make them ill, but the virus does remain and they're subsequently immune.

For the less fortunate of us, incidence of EBV then peaks again during late teenage years because we start sharing each others' saliva again  Basically, for now, rest as much as you need to, sleep, don't do anything that will obviously infect other people, and avoid alcohol for a while. I know this is hard if you're at uni and everyone is getting wasted, but it can (not saying it will) lead to nasty liver complications.

yeh i had it
felt rough for 3 weeks- just thought it was the flu but was later informed i'd had glandular fever. it can affect different people differently- some people really badly- others not so badly-like me.
try not to give it to anyone else!!!!

Thanks for all the info. Does anyone know how long I'm gonna be contagious for?

(My girlfriend is getting tested btw -- maybe she gave it to me.)
