Pharmacy Student - Boots!

Hey, not too sure where to put it, so I figured maybe carrers was the right way to go so here it is:

Im a pharmacy student and looking to apply for a summer placement at Boots. Im not too sure if any of you have applied to them, but its frustrating when you apply time and time again and you arent succesful! Deadline is by midnight tomorrow to apply so just wondering if anyone who works at Boots or has worked there or had a placement there could help me out with some of these questions. Thanks in advance

How do you see the role of Boots The Chemists community pharmacists changing over the next 3-5 years?

What are you most looking forward to experiencing and learning in your store during the work placement?

What would you expect to do as a qualified pharmacist and what would you enjoy about that?

What opportunities do you see for growing a healthcare business in a local community?

Ive got some ideas for these but ive been unsuccessful too many times!

hi

i work at boots, not as a pharmacy assistant though. However i think that i would answer some of those questions like....

Seen as boots has just merged with alliance-unichem they will be taking over their small local pharmacys, i think you should say that pharmacists will become more important to the community for advice as well as dispensing prescriptions.

What opportunities do you see for growing a healthcare business in a local community?

talk about a similar thing as above here, they are expanding their business and they want to put boots products on more local chemists shelves to increase awarness of the boots brand; they are hoping they can improve their sales by doing this.

What are you most looking forward to experiencing and learning in your store during the work placement?

i would say something about learing new skills and working with experienced staff.

What would you expect to do as a qualified pharmacist and what would you enjoy about that?

i would say that you would expect to be able to give good reliable medical advice to the local community, aswell as dispensing prescriptions. and that You would enjoy helping people and making boots pharmacies different by offering impartial advice aswell as prescriptions.

don't know if that helps or not  But thats what they talk about in the pharmacy section of the company magazine!!!
As regards to the first question I would say pharmacists are already important for giving general advice.
I would talk about the extra services pharmacists are beginning to provide such as cholesterol testing, diabetes testing, patient medication reviews etc

Plus you can go to your pharmacy with minor ailments now instead of going to your GP, and they'll recommend the most approporiate over-the-counter medication.
