lots of pregnant people? and if its so reliable why dont you use it?

Actually, Juno is right. Natural family planning, when done properly, is 94% effective. It involves an ovulation calendar, and I think something to do with taking your temperature every day to work out when your fertile times are. I know someone who uses it, because she's a Catholic and it's more in tune with her religious beliefs.

However, she is married. Before she was married, she was on the pill. Most of us wouldn't be happy with a 6% failure rate. The odds are too high. You are not advised to use this method of contraception if getting pregnant is completely out of the question. If you're not looking to get pregnant straight away, but would be able to cope if you did, it's a very good method, as long as you do it properly.

My friend is 23 and is newly-wed. She and her husband don't have that much spare cash floating around at the moment, and don't want to have a baby just yet, but if she were to get pregnant, it wouldn't be a complete disaster, because they are secure in their relationship and both have jobs and a house together. For her, it's the perfect solution. But I don't think anybody would recommend it to teens/students/people not in committed relationships.

Ovulation calendars, in the hands of irresponsible teenagers, are, as you say, about as much use as a chocolate teapot. No doctor will ever recommend that you use this method, because they don't want to be held responsible for the consequences when people fail to use it properly. It also takes a lot of self control only to have sex when it's *the right time*.

In the hands of mature, responsible adults, who know what they're doing, they are almost as effective as condoms.

My friend used this method for 18 months without getting pregnant. She then went back to the pill for a bit whilst she and her then fiance were planning their wedding, and now they are married, she is back to using it again. She's one of five, so I don't think there are fertility problems in her family.

hahahahha. just have read a funny article, where they give like an old advice..they say, that after sex you must do 50 sits up, so sperm will go out of your vagina...and you must do it first 12 min after you finished sex, otherwise after 12 min vagina will be 'closed' hahahahaha, this way of nonpregnancy used our grannies possibly =)))

Reply 71

im glad you find this all hilarious

Yes because men/guys can pre ejaculate (or precum as they like to say) so even if you didn't use a condom and he didn't cum, you could still be in trouble...especially now that it is too late to use the morning after pill.

Best thing is to look for a pregnancy test thing? Then talk to your local GP/Doctor about it?
