Coursework : Can't be bothered

I don't know why but I just can't be bothered with my cw, I did really well in yr 10 but now in yr 11 I'm really unmotivated,what do you do to motivate yourself to do cw? Music etc.

Listening to music can work both ways really. I always listen to it when I'm doing homework or coursework and it does make it less boring, but it also distracts me and means the work ends up taking twice as long! Maybe you could plan a treat for yourself like a night out with friends or something after finishing a piece of coursework? The best motivation really is knowing you'll have a safety net in case the exams don't go too well and knowing you'll kick yourself if you don't get the grades you want because of bad coursework!

When I had to do my coursework, I just sat down and did it pretty much in one day, because I couldn’t spread my motivation for more then few days.

My motivation for finishing GCSE coursework? 12am, night before deadline, finishing last section, with about 12 others on msn doing the same - that was my motivation.

DO NOT leave coursework until the last moment - its just annoying to think there are others relaxing/sleeping when you are doing coursework. Now I'm in the sixth form I'm getting all my coursework/assessments done as soon as they've been announced and it feels bloody great. :smile:

I know what you mean. You feel like you can't be ass*d to do it, but if you actually sit your self down and start the coursework, you will find your self stuck on it and it suddenly doesn't seem that boring.

Personally I always leave it a week till the deadline :redface:

I know this is bad, but I can't change my habit. So any advice your given may not even change your motivation, but when we leave till very late, we usually work better as we're under pressure.

You can try rewarding yourself after a set time of coursework progression.

here is my step by step guide for geting cw done
get all the stuff you need in one place - spare pens ect
get a bottle of water ( i have knocked glasses over so use a bottle)

sit and work solidly for 20mins - set a alarm on your phone
after those 20mins get up and walk around - go outside if you want to but DO NOT TALK TO ANYONE
after 5 mins come back and carry on
keep drinking and having breaks and rember to eat

use music if it helps - i find music with a faster beat makes me work fast
