delaying

i have a stupid question

i am going away for new years eve and i am due on my period 2-3 days before it, last year i was on my period for new years eve,

can the pill *( a certain kind)* delay it for a few days i know that it can be made a hell of a lot lighter, only i don;t want to be at my mates house and have not had a very pleasent nights sleep as in a previous thread i explained i suffer from bad periods,

i know it sounds abit silly but it will be a godsend if i could delay it for a few days maximum!!!
just take two packs together and skip the period

two packs is that like two a day instead of one? (im not very smart)

can't i just go the FPC and get the injection and miss that months one does the injections make you skip a period?

If you're already on the pill you could run two packs together - so you don't leave the week gap where you don't take any pills. That will mean you don'tget your period.

If you aren't already on the pill I believe there is a different sort you can get prescribed which will delay your period. if you want to do that, go and make an appointment with your GP.
ye, its not two a day, its just not having the break for your period. Theres no guarantee that the injection will stop your period this soon, i think it takes a couple of months for you body to be used to it

oh i get it now so instead of taking the bigger ones at the end i take the start of another pack??

cool i shall go and see the family planning about that!!

i hate the idea of being at someone elses house and go on complete overleak in the night time!!

sounds really rank i know i would feel realy guilty about it !!!

does that make it heavier when t does come??

Probably Norethisterone - it's a progesterone analogue which can delay your period for a few days. However, if you're already on the pill, the simplest thing to do is just to run two packs together (i.e. don't take the placebo pills/have a 7 day break, just start on the new packet straight away) and avoid it completely. It's not bad for you if you do it occasionally.
