lots of new info for you guys (ok, so this may make me look ignorant, but that's life!)

I really wouldn't worry about accomodation. Weir and Derwent all have network connections AND (this is the good bit) middleton is being refurbished over the summer (atleast, I was told by a reliable source that it was). So, assuming that is right, by the time you get here everyone will have a network connection and there will be no really awfull rooms.

And as for the open day program 'ken...ken', I wouldn't have a clue, but I'm sure it will be easy to find out.

I'll get back to you (providing I remember ofcourse!)

Going back to yesterdays (thrilling!) conversation about train times, I'm now getting the train which leaves Kings X at 11.30am so may see a coupel of you there .

Note to anyone coming from London - book your ticket from Kings X rather than from the station closest to where you live! The return ticket from Kings X to Durham costs £20, plus 2 £3 single fares to get from the station nearest to me to Kings X, so £26 in total. This compares rather nicely to the £41 direct ticket to Durham! Stupid how it would cost more to travel the 8 or so miles across London than the 264 up to Durham on the latter ticket...

If you're stuck on what Van Mildert is like, go to the JCR version of the college website, and on there is an interactive tour where you can take a look at what the college is like. Its so cool! Especially the lake, and the 42" tv

On tuesday ill be taking train back at about 3pm or 4pm? Coz I dont wanna get back home too late since its 4 hours journey, and got school the next day. I think the programme finishes at around midday, which gives us like a few hours to wander around the college and the town. Monday im arriving at bout 3pm, probably earlier

No problemo! Stupid rail system...

I'm getting the 15.07 back to Kings X as I thought it would be nice to have the opportunity to stay a little longer to have another look round/talk to my multiple new friends  and possibly meet up with various people who have suggested/I have suggested to that we should do so. (Ouch, the grammar in that sentence is bad).

When I went I got mine from qjump - they give you a cardboard wallet to store your tickets in.

Direct tickets can be cheaper from London - it depends how far away you are from King's Cross, 'the gateway to the North'. I got a direct ticket as it was cheaper than getting a ticket from King's Cross and a London Connections ticket.

Yeah its possible, just make sure you let them know beforehand. Most people who stay on the 23rd are those who's going on the open day on the 24th, coz the idea is that people arrive the night before the open day.
hey, is anyone here going to van mildert next monday????
