I have lost 2 stone over the past 18 months really... really... really slowly, because thats the best way because then you keep it off. (if you lose weight very quickly, your body wants to put it back on the second you so much as smell a twix!!) (plus I dont eat well / exercise much during term time unfortunately - must try harder!)

WALKING - I cannot endorse this enough. 30-45mins brisk walking 3 times a week will be enough to lose a few pounds and then maintain it. Jog a bit when you feel like it, get your heart rate up even more. Must be fairly brisk walking though, not just strolling around! Be good as your mate wants to get involved, so you can do it together, plus you can do it anytime and its free. (no expensive gym fees) Or if you're on your own, stick you Ipod on, get marching and the time flies.

And just watch what you each - swap white bread / rice / pasta for wholemeal if you don't already, and try and only eat bread once a day. (it really bloats you and makes you feel heavy) Drink 2 litres water a day, and be careful with snacks - only eat when you are genuinely hungry.

Small changes like this will sort out half a dress size in a matter of weeks.
