Whilst uni's may not include GS in your offer, if you drop a grade in one of your other subjects, GS COULD make the difference regarding whether you pass/fail.

GS was compulsory at my school also. At the time I admit, I resented it slightly. However, it's all 'wider' knowledge in the great scheme of things.

GS is a 'feel good' subject. I'm taking it for the sake of getting another 100% to boost my sad ego

You don't have to study for the papers, but it does get you into the exam mood and quick thinking thing. I personally enjoyed doing the exams.

Yes, I found that the essays and shorter answer questions were on interesting subjects.
