I have an essay entitled

Critically consider the claim that 'Reality TV is something that doesn't really exist'.

I am having trouble defining reality tv as it can be anything from Big Brother to who wants to be a millionaire (quite different) any ideas??

it is difficult to define but that is the nature of postmodernism of which reality tv is a part. Unstable, unfixed etc. Perhaps start with blurred boundaries. You will need to define tv, postmodernism and then reality tv. look at baudrillard, jameson, eco and then media theorists like nichols. hope have been of some help?
