Role Play in Interviews

I have an interview with Marks & Spencer on Monday for Christmas temping jobs in customer services...

Apart from the fact, I have no appropriate clothing (will a black pencil skirt, black heels and a nice blouse do?) and have never had a job interview in my life... I am also crapping myself because there is ROLE PLAY!

I havent done role play since I was about nine in primary school! And that was fun and I was on a pirate ship lol.

But what do they expect? And what on earth am I going to do?... And there's a group exercise too! I'm also quite shy so I'm quite worried!

Thanks in advance

Good luck with the interview! There are some other threads about marks and spencer interviews. Don't worry about the role plays, when i had my m and s role plays it was just things like abusive customers and that. Also, the outfit sounds fine to wear!

the role play will be fine- they ask u to start so just say something like- can i help you there madame/sir? and then they will respond usually they are not happy about something. just offer them advice and try to be as helpful, calm and polite as possible. just dont panick! good luck

My interview for a similar position in Selfridges today was straightforward, it was explained clearly aswell.

Part 1; Interview - standard questions 10-15 minutes.
Part 2; Role Play (Volunteer to go first, I did it makes you look good  ) Ihad to sell a bottle of Moet Champagne and 4 flute glasses to a man while the 4 interviewers watched. The man asked questions about the product which made it easier. I had to complete the transaction aswell. Just remain calm, polite and dont worry about freezing, they know your only human and you probably going to be nervous.
