biochemistry interview at manchester

hi, i have an interview for biochem next wed at man U and i was wondering what i could expect from this interview baring in mind biochem is my backup choice, i have also applied for med at manchester too. They never stated in their prospectus that interviews were compulsory for life sciences so i havent really prepared for it. general questions about manchester? or very specific testing my science knowledge questions? ive alrdy got enough on my plate with Alvls, learnin the drive and now the headache of preparing for interviews.

I' ve got a biochemistry interview too but on the 25th. Sorry I can't be of any help I haven't been to an interview before. Good luck I'm sure you'll do fine. i heard they only ask stuff like why manchester, why biochemistry and about your PS nothing subject specific. I'd love to hear how it went though..

I had an interview at manchester for biochemistry couple of years ago.

Was a very relaxing chat, they just interview people to get to know them.told me i had an offer at the interview. manchester interview for every course as far as i know.

The only question i got asked (which wasnt about me or my ps) was if i had a million pounds what would i invest it in as a researcher. I told them stem cells, which i knew they were big about it from reading their website the night before. I recommend you have a look at their course on their website. good luck

Hi! Is it true that if you get shortlisted for an interview at Manchester you are likely to have and offer?
hi, was wondering how your interview went and if you could tell me the kind of questions they asked??
I applied in October soI had my interview in November. They asked me quite nothing, only why biochemistry and why in Manchester (I'm applying from Spain). I got an offer and yes, if they call you from Manchester, if you don't spit at the interviewer you have the offer in your pocket.
what did you say for why biochemistry and why in manchester if may i ask?

Can you explain what you said for why biochem and why in manchester?

I would recommend that you make a new post, this thread is years old and it is unlikely you would get a reply.
You could try and ask yourself why you've chosen the course and why at Manchester, if that's difficult ask yourself, why didn't you choose a different course, say, biomedical science in a London university? Is there something specific about biochemistry that you find interesting? What do you like about the course structure in Manchester as opposed to other universities? Is there any particular biochem research that the university has done that you would like to take part in? The more personal your response, the better it would sound in an interview in my opinion.

Goodluck with your interview/s.
