I'm in year 11, and me and a couple of friends have planned to get our history teacher a 'good-bye' / 'thank-you' present. He is one of the best teachers we had during the 4 years in secondary school, and it's only fair that we thank him.

However, we are not quite sure what to get him...we would like some suggestions. But if this is at all helpful; he likes rugby, and as previously mentioned, he is a historian basically. Our budget is around £80, but obviously partial to suggestions reasonably higher.

Thanks guys (in advance).

This might be a bit of a lame idea really but you could try and get him a newspaper from the day he was born? That could be the 'history' part of the present. Although you would need to find out when he was born.

Here's the link anyway, but you can google it if there's another company you find doing the same.

Most suggestions may be alcohol but that's difficult. Maybe something related to rugby? A rugby ball decorated with "thank you" or a photograph of his favorite team (signed wouldn't be bad look on eBay or something). Sorry if these suggestions are no good.

yea, signed (by you) rugby ball sounds good.

When I was in year 11 we got my IT teacher tinned pineapple chunks. God knows why...

You must know what his passions are in history, does he seem more enthusiastic about some topics than others? Buy him something related to that, maybe a book or something- but a unique one rather than just one you can get out of the library.

We loved our English teacher loads and when she left we gave her a big photo of her with the class and everyone had signed it. She cried. Was a bit awkward.

I agree with lots of the above, alcohol, newspaper from his birth day and rugby ball signed by the whole class sounds like a great idea. Obviously you'd need a parent/guardian to buy the alcohol. :ninja:

A signed rugby ball would be really great. My form tutor was a PE teacher and played rugby and managed some of the rugby players in the class so we all signed a rubgy ball on our last day, he loved it
