    Hi
I know it may be a sensitive issue for some, but I wondered if anyone else had any rejections yet? I got one from Manchester today, and I hate to say it came as rather a shock. Not that I was conceited enough not to expect rejections, but I wasn't expecting them to come until much later. I guess they really made up their minds early on in my case?! Ah well, I'm sure they had their reasons. Certainly brought me back to earth, which is always a good thing!

 You got 5 A's and they rejected you

Was your personal statement below par or something? What about your reference? Did you ever get a chance to see that?

    Thanks for the support everyone!

As the typical rejectee, I've been searching round for reasons - I know sad isn't it?! I didn't think my personal statement was particularly bad or anything, but I guess it's hard for me to judge! From what I hear Manchester's had a lot of applicants as well, because of those huge bursaries they're handing out. Also, I think I read somewhere something about a '6A* policy' - I don't know what truth there is in this, but my GCSEs weren't quite as impressive (4A*s, 6As and 2Bs - which, I have to say, I was quite proud of at the time, even though i know they're not as good as some), so i guess that could explain it.

Law is extremely competitive, and Manchester is probably one of the most competitive universities to get an offer for Law from. You have 3 very good offers and 2 more to g! Don't worry!
