I wonder why is it so important to drink lots of water when you want to lose weight, when you do exercises (well I understand if you are doing exercises you are sweating etc and need to get back water you lost, but I think it is impossible to lose 2 liters of water with sweat!?). I have read that you must drink 2 liters of water every day if you want to lose weight. Does anyone know why and why so much?
I don't know the exact reason, but if you drink lots of water, you'll be more unlikely to eat. Becasue you'll be filled up with water. I've also read water increases metabolism.

wow!!! I just sometimes know that I need to drink more water but I just dont feel like drinking water dont want it...
It also helps to give an accurate measure of just how much weight you have lost.... if you aren't drinking enough a lot of the weight you could be losing can actually be fluid. So if you keep your water intake constant at two litres a day, a more accurate amount of true weight will be lost!
Um, 8 glasses/ two litres is judged to be the same amount. Obviously it depends on what size glasses you have, but if you are told to drink 8 glasses a day, they mean two litres!
when you excercise you have to drink water so you don't become dehydrated. it is always good to drink and if you find it difficult to drink 1- 2 litres/day try one glass every hour. then it doesn't seem like so much at once. but remember that you get water from what you are eating as well.
most people can differnticate (sp?) betwen hunger and thirst so eat when they are hungry and eat when they are thirsty this is why if you are losing weight/ or trying to be healthy
if you feel peckish - when its not breakfast lunch or dinner time drink a glass of water and give it 15-20 mins if your still hungry then eat something
oh and dont drink tomuch with meals it dilutes stomach acids and slows down digestion of food so it takes longer to feel full and longer to digest food - doesnt help with losing weight

Lou xxx
i think they quote 250ml glasses, so it would be two litres...
I got told that if you drinking enough water it kinda washes away the nutrients in the food so your body doesnt digest as many calories but now iv written that down it does seem like a complete load of rubbish hmmm.
hmm well i asked my mates mum who is a doctor why we should drink all this water and she said 2 litres a day is absolute rubbish. she said obviously you need to keep hydrated but if you are peeing all the time (like i was when i tried drinking 2 litres a day) then you are drinking more than you need. of course it doesn't do you any harm to drink plenty but you have to remeber most food has a lot of fluid in it anyway.
