im 18 too.
id say 27 was fine....theres nothing wrong with it.
now over 30 is abit strange

Id say around 27 as well. i probably wouldnt see anyone who was ten years older than me. but if one person is 14 and the other is 24, thats a bit wrong.

I've seen a lot of people quote the "Take the older persons age, half it and add 7, and thats the youngest person they can go out with" formula.

My friend is 18 and has been goin out with a 26 year old for over a year, they r one of the most solid couples i know. I reckon about 27/28 for 18yos is ok, but as you get older I think age matters a lot less. Also, a lot of it depends on the people!

there was a girl that was about 14/15 when i was in high school and she went out with someone that was nearly 40.
and one time i saw them and i said hello to her and said is that your dad and she said no its my boyfriend ahahahahahahaha
i didnt do that on perpose i actaully did think it was her dad

That's just wrong. What possible interest can a 42 year old man have in someone so young, immature and naive, apart from the obvious? Of course, I'm sure he looked after her very well in a scarily paternalistic way, but still it's not right.

Laydees, what's the upper age limit you'd have between yourselves and a guy? I'm 18( as you can read!) and I'd be inclined to say maybe 27, ish. Just asking cos I was talking about it with some mates the other day and a couple of them seemed to think that was a bit weird! I think it just depends on attraction, personality, chemistry & how much you've got in common- the whole shebang as per usual (no wonder I'm single with a list that long.... :wink:

Your upper limit is 27 but if at 24, I were to go out with a 17 or 18 year old, I think I'd get quite a bit of stick from friends. They still joke about some time I chatted up a whole group of 16 year olds in a club and I wasn't even 20 :frown:

Then again, they did get picked up by one of the girl's mum.

I dont see why he went out with her. i can see why she went out with him, because at that age its flattering to know that guys in their 20s find you attractive, you dont see it as being odd. at 22 youre an adult, but like i said, at 14, youre still a child, even though you dont see yourself as one.

Is it me or do age gaps seem a lot huger when you're younger? My best friend (16) is going out with a 13 year old - they behave. But most couples, as in married adults with kids, have an age gap of several years but it doesn't seem like anything! Strange...maybe its becuase all adults look a similar age, they're just *grown ups* :p:

nope from what i heard he turned nasty then she ended up in a hostel for months and he was arrested becuase child porn on his computer she was well rid of him, dirty old man, she ran away with him and everything, and i think he is still in jail!!
