# M2 Collisions (Ex 4D Q7)Watch

I having trouble with a collisions question from the Heinemann Book for M2. It is Ex 4D Q7 for anyone who has the book.

Two small balls A and B have masses 4 kg and 5 kg respectively. They lie at rest on a smooth horizontal floor. A is projected towards B with speed u. Ball B then strikes as smooth vertical wall normally. After rebounding from the wall, ball B again collides with ball A. Given that ball B is brought to rest by the second collision with B show that:

2e3 - 3e2 - 3e + 2 = 0

e is the coeff. of restitution between A and B and B and the wall.

oh man, that took me like 3 sides of working out.
It can be cut down to two, but it takes a while.

Yeah it has taken me a few sides already. And I've got nowhere.
