Before anyone accuses me of reading this as a primary source, I found it here first

The Daily Mail alleges that actors were used in the BBC programme 'The Real Hustle', where members of the public are conned out of their money, are given it back then asked to let it be shown on television to help viewers spot and avoid such scams - or so it is claimed.

My question is, does it really matter if these scams were played out by actors? If you are watching it to laugh at the mugs, then yes, I can understand why you might be peeved that after all this time, the mug was you. But if you were watching it to learn about various scams, then you have still learnt that even if it was from actors.

This is an outrage! I've always hated the BBC anyway though. Don't think it's true though because they don't show any Muslims on the show and that's not representative of multicultural Britain and the BBC always show that.

I was watching it yesterday and it's had it's time. They've run out of ideas. The guy was bending saucepans to hustle some drinks ffs.

Oh I hate those little bar scams to get free drinks, no way anyone would do them in real life and I think those are quite clearly staged.

You know when something is reaching it's demise when they have to haul in Z-listers to help with the hustles. Sad times :emo:

Yeah I concur with the bar scams, its never anything clever, they just whip out an outrageous prop that is barely in keeping with the original bet. You'd get glassed in my pub.
