Driving up to Leeds now, three hours of headphones in desparately trying to ignore my parents constantly asking questions about the accommodation. :| Why is no-one talking about Bodington anymore?!

ooh harsh, lol. 1 parent is bad. 2 and I'd rather walk (just messing, lol)

Hey, it means I don't have to pay for petrol to drive up here! I'll have to give them the slip when looking at halls then casually meet up with them again in time for them to pay for lunch!

oh my days same! Are you going for catered or non catered? I love it, it looks like Hogwarts! I can sit in my room on a night, gazing out the window and writing literature...
LOL jk, Imma hit the bar.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH high and on the student room?! Nah, sadly not..

I'm not sure if I'm applying yet. :beard: But, I think I'd opt for catered! I can put to test what I learnt over this gap year culinary wise (which isn't an awful lot, mind). How about you?
Hogwarts? I thought more Oxbridge but yeah... The literature still fits.

You'd be surprised. Regardless, you seem pretty elated. And I'm also assuming you're azn? :holmes:

Yea I'd turn to it as a last resort and they're usually more modern and cheaper than uni ones, if i don't find a crib for 2nd yr then I'm down

**** Yea! Any headway with the accommodation? And Oh i want a lava lamp  - no idea why

Ahaha, fair enough. Although yeah, they do look more modern. Have you seen the Plaza? Or whatever that place is called.

Erm... No improvement yet. It isn't looking likely atm, but I have a few months, right? :getmecoat: I shall fill you in if there are any changes. :sigh: A lava lamp? Okay. I'll bear that in mind for future birthday presents.
does anyone have any information about The Tannery please???
I'm jumping on the leeds accomodation thread a lil late :K:

when I went on the visit day they only showed us the henry price accommodation so when I got home I checked out the accommodation online, and I like the look of leodis, james baile park, clarence dock was lovely but it's a lil far out, so there no chance of me rolling out of bed just b4 a lecture , the tannery looks quite good as well, but again it's a lil far out :s-smilie:

and if there are any current leeds students on this thread could u tell me if people on campus have more fun than those off campus, if not because everything is so close to hand, then because there is more of an 'atmosphere'?

If anyone has got any pictures of any of the accommodations I've just listed, I'd appreciate sooooooooo much if you would share them with me

Tannery was decent. Large enough rooms with en-suite. Single bed in standard room but double bed for studio, which has its own kitchen/sink area. Kitchen was quite big for standard rooms shared between 6. I didn't like that there are no buses to the university so you are going to have to walk so weather may be an issue sometimes. I am doing dentistry next year so was really considering The Tannery but now not so much. No bar on site.

Leodis has a common room which doesn't get much use because the tour guy said most people socialise in there own flats. Rooms were small but had en-suite, which was ok. Only a 7-10 minute walk to uni. Kitchen on show was not in good condition. Lots of blocks (A-J) all 5-10 years old.

My personal favourite was Clarence Dock!!! It was amazing for the price! Hope to see any dentists there in September and anyone else applying to Clarence Dock!

Ahh Thanks a lot for that mate, Yeah clarence dock is bloody amazing but way too far out for my taste.
so in your opinion tannery is better than leodis? Yeah i dont mind the no bus bussiness since it's only a 13 minute walk to the dental building according to google maps but leodis is like 22 minutes walk to dental school since Worsley building is on the west side of the campus.
does anybody know where i'd be likely to get if i put JAMES BAILLIE down but didnt get it???
Think I'm a bit late to this thread, but ah well.

I just had a look at Clarence Dock, The Tannery and Leodis today. Wasn't keen on the Tannery - the rooms were pretty small, I found it a bit claustrophobic and I didn't like the surrounding area much. Now, I'm totally stuck between Clarence Dock and Leodis (which I was even before I went to see the accommodation!).

My only worry with Clarence Dock is that it's so far out. If I could be assured that it wouldn't have an effect on my social life, that would definitely be my first choice. Leodis is much closer and was still nice, but I've heard it's supposed to be quite oversubscribed and I'd rather have the smallest possible chance of being put somewhere other than my first choice. However, Clarence Dock seems to have a lot of interest this year - so maybe even that'll be oversubscribed!
