# Help - MathsWatch

Hey guys.

I'm a biomed student and I have a basic maths test tomorrow and I need help on a question so Im wondering if any of you guys can help me?

Question: You are given a stock solution of an antibiotic at 20 mg ml?¹ and you need to dilute it. What volume of this solution would you have to add to water to make 500ml of an antibiotic solution of 5 µg ml?¹?

The answer I got was o.125ml but the actual answer it seems is 0.5ml. Can someone explain how to get to the answer?

Help will be appreciated

Thanks

The quetion you've posted is asking what volume of the solution would you have to add to an unspecified volume of water to get a 500ml solution of a given concentration. Are you sure there isn't more to the question than that?

I've asked other people also and they got the same answers too so I think my tutor may have made a mistake.
