How will universities find out your resit results? Is it all done through UCAS extra?

do you mean by how universities know your grades if you've already got an offer? Well they'll know your results and will either reject you or accept you on the day of your A2 results.

What I am saying is how do they know if you have improved your AS grades? Is that done through UCAS extra.

I am applying to universities based on my AS grades right now. If I improve those AS grades then would I be able to apply to better universities through ucas extra?

The Ucas Extra is if you reject all your offers or are rejected by all your choices you can choose to apply to 1 of the unis on the ucas extra list and if you're rejected by that you apply to another till you get an offer. Most of the popular courses will be gone by the time it goes to extra.

they wont know your grades unless you put them down. If you put pending on your ucas its fine, they wont know your trying to improve them

yes, but they will still know your grades on the results day, and will either reject or accept.

Also his question was how will universities find out your resit results. It looks like he wants the universities to find out his resit results, i.e. if it is better.

Well if you've applied to universities with your A2 predictions (regardless of if you wrote down your AS grades on UCAS), you will be made offers. Then when you get your A2 results, the universities will know your whole A-level results and on the results day, UCAS status will either indicate if you've been accepted or not.

The resit marks will be cashed in towards your whole a-level automatically (universities will know)

GHG sounds like he's not done as well as he had hoped so tried to get into universities with lower entry requirements. Then, when he gets his improved AS grades I think he wants to give it another go through UCAS extra.

I think that's the story, but I'm not sure it matters because you're not supposed to stick down your AS grades for the subjects you're continuing onto A2 anyway.

That doesn't really answer the question but UCAS extra is worth a go but as Oblivious has said, the popular courses won't have spaces left. Also, your actual grades aren't seen by universities until the results are published, your predicted grades are much more important.
