lazy mans excercise (maybe??)

my legs are quite skinny so i thought i would try and do some exercise. fairly sensible chain of thought eh? but im very, very lazy. i also drink a lot of tea. so i thought i could kill 2 birds with 1 stone and challenged myself to every time i boil the kettle, stand with my back against the wall and my knees bend at 90 degrees.

try it! it hurts!

you have to have a lot of mental strength to stay the whole course until the kettle clicks off because your brain tells you that all this effort is utterly pointless and stupid.... which is true

i have no idea wether this is a particularly good excercise for anything at all but at least i remember to do it and do it relatively often. and it made a funny post on tsr too

I doubt its good muscle building excercise!

Put more and more water in the kettle as it becomes easier.

heh yeah i put only as much water as i need in atm, which i suppose saves energy which is a bonus. (the electric kind im talking about)

(as opposed to filling it up randomly, sometimes with enough for 3 or 4 cups)

Its more of a stretch than an excercise, you should do it before you walk to the kettle , you don't wanna pull a muscle.

Nah he isn't going up and down just staying still, try going up and down! You could also try powering the kettle by doing it somehow .

My friend was/is a ballboy at Wimbledon, and they work them hard, and they used to have to do that - sit against a wall at 90 degrees as if there's a chair there.

you do that before you go skiing, preparing your legs for the change in posture.

What i do all the time now is get a strong elastic band and put it over my fingers and stretch your hand out against the elastic, 50 times on each hand. build up your hand muscles lol, really random but its quite addictive

I used to get made to do that in Karate for 5 minutes at a time. It gets easier as you do it more, until you don't even feel the pain anymore. Then my son, you'll be a man.
