Do modular exams get better grades than linear?

With the government stopping all GCSE modular exams, I want to know whether there is any proof to suggest that students get better grades if they sit modular exams rather than linear exams? There appears to be lots of speculation that those who sit modular exams get better grades than if they were to sit linear ones, but does anyone actually have any proof?

If I done modular for maths, I would of got A*.

However, I got a B doing linear.

Modular is much easier than linear, as you only have to remember certain topics for x months, rather than the whole course. However, in linear, you have more time to master technique and consildate facts.

Personally, I prefer modular. I got straight A*s in all my modular subjects, getting As in RE and English which were linear last year.

I prefer modular, but the fact is, you still need to work hard regardless.
you can't say that somebody who did well in a modular exam wouldn't do well in a linear one. they both take hard work and effort. If you're lazy and do no work, you'll do badly regardless (unless you're annoyingly lucky)

I might sound weird but I actually prefer linear. You have a lot more time to cover things and actually get a chance to learn things rather than being rushed through material in class without fully understanding it and thrown into an exam which you'll no doubt proabably have to resit anyway.

People who do modular maths are ****. linear ftw. the girl's school near us do modular but we MEN DO LINEAR MATHS. ooh ahh

I always found linear easier tbh

You have to learn a **** load of stuff, however... you get like 1 question per topic in some cases, whereas with modular you have a whole paper about a specific topic and they tend to go more in deppth

Any study tips for modular please. I really need help. BTW How often did you write. Did you write some at the end of year 10 and 11 or did you write some every year? I'm so sorry i just really need help🙏
