As an international student you are enitled to NHS. Yopu have to register with a doctor, they'll ask you some questions and ask for a letter from your university, passport and I don't remember if something else. My doctor didn't have pills, but gave me condoms. I also signed up at the contraceptive clinic at my universty to get the pill, they gave a prescription for 6 months and went to Boots and got it.
Hope it helped...
I think it should be fine. Go to your local family planning clinic with all the relevant documentation and they will weigh you, ask you a few questions, you'll fill in some forms, they'll give you the pill and some free condoms, and its done.

Thanks guys
Most contraceptives are free on the NHS (cheaper than people having babies!) The pill is certainly free. As long as you register with a doctor, should be fine.

Free pills for all three years that you're there? How lovely...and ...cheap!
