can I start now?

Hi!
I'm sorry to bring this subject up again, but I looked around the forum and didn't find an answer to my question....
I'm about to go on the pill for the first time, and my doctor told me that I should start on the first day of my periods... The thing is, my last period finished last week, and I would like to start taking the pill now rather than in three weeks time...
Can I start the pill right now even though it's not my first day of period? What does it change?? How long would it take for the pill to be effective??

thanks!
Follow what your docor said =) he is probably knows why and what is better for you =) dont ask, just do it

yeah i did that.started mid cycle whatever.after a period anyways.it's fine just make sure u're extra protected this first month and when u get ur 'period' (it's not a true period) after that u'll be fine.just remember to take them regularly and stuff.althought what the other girl said is true.
Yes, you can start any time you like. Starting on the first day of your period just means you will be protected straight away.
