Which nottingham club is best and why?

after venturing into a few of the nottingham clubs i have to say that Ocean has been the worst so far.. as in enjoyed the night due to the company but the severe overcrowding and presence of smashed glass everywhere made the conditions slightly unfavourable... cookie club has been the best - more my kind of music particularly in the indie rooms  what do others think? stealth was ok in my opinion and enjoyed seeing rooster and mode i barely remember... not been to oceania, the works or media though.

Well you've left it too late for going to the Works. They've lost their Licence and are being closed down.

Only been to Ocean when very drunk... Oceana I've only been to sober! I loved it once and was ambivalent the second time. Cookie Club was cute, but empty when we went. I love going around the bars

Oceana or Isis are definitely the best two - and I've tried and tested them all hehe! although i think isis is not really a place for freshers, not sure why tho!

Loads of people from HuStu go to Isis. I haven't managed to work my way there yet though. xx

The works closed down coz of drugs and underage servinf. The AU night at MEdia is ok - wouldnt say its as good as the Works tho. Oceana has got to be the best so far - Jumping J's was pretty small I thought. Havent been to Isis yet tho. Definately on my to do list

They were caught and warned several times about serving minors.

Also they had the highest incident rate of Police involvement of any premises in the City Centre.

What finally tipped it was when the Police went to investigate a stabbing incident. Works didn't even have it in their incident log. When they finally caught the lad involved, one of the Door Men said in his statement that he was suprised as the lad was a regular, and had never caused trouble before. Only problem was...he was only 16!

The Police applied for a revocation of Licence and won. Works appealed and lost. Several other Bars/Clubs are currently on final warnings that the same will happen to them.

Definately Mode and Templars, couple of others I'm not 100% on, so won't say.

Long Island Iced Tea Shoppe was in court at the same time as Works, but they came to an agreement whereby they would alter their hours and become a Bar/Restaurant again in return for keeping their Licence.

As the new Licencing regime starts on Nov 24th, I think this kind of situation will become far more common.

On the upside, as Kebeb shops now need to be licensed, there should be an increase in standards. That's got to be a good thing!

Isis is definately my favourite nightclub in Nottingham. The music isn't just cheese, which makes a nice change, the decor is pretty cool. I would disagree with the "it's not for first years comment"! The sooner you start going to Isis the better!

Best to get tickets though, as the queue can be quite long. You can get e-tickets for wednesday night from www.nottinghamstudent.co.uk/isis with queue jump!

I'm going this Wednesday fot the toga party - should be a good night!!
