No. It's bad and will lead to the teacher getting into a lot of trouble if found out.

Is it actually against some sort of rule even if you're 18...?
No, but one of the ex-sixth formers (female) is going out with a male teacher from my school. this has only been acknowldeged since she left the school, but it was a widely known rumour when she was there, so I guess it was true after all! He's a good fifteen years older than her, but he was single, so not really as bad as it could have been!

I thought you were allow to go out with a teacher when your 16 cos you've already left school. One of my mate is 16 and she's going out with this teacher who's 20...

It is legal if the pupil has left the school and are otherwise unattached to the school. Still - I think it's a bit weird - the teacher is in almost a parental role...

Not always. Especially if the teachers are fairly young anyway (i.e 20s).

I meant if they were teaching you specifically - not a random teacher

Yeah I guess that could be awkward.

A 20 year old is not old enough to be a real teacher...

Hehe, maybe planning on being a teacher after degree and teacher training? Or very precocious as a teenager...

Yeah, he's planning to become a real teacher, he's just training to be one at the mo...from what my friend has said.

The rules actually changed recently. No teacher can be in a relationship with any student they have ever taught, not matter what the age.

Surely this can't be true. once the pupil has left school (as long as they are over 16, which would be assumed, if they had left school) then a) how can they impose this, and b) why would anyone care?

--------------

Actually now I come to think of it, my dad's friend was a teacher, and married one of his ex-pupils. although she left school at 16, and only met up and started going out when she was 18. although they've divorced now, they were married for at least 10 years, and had kids.
not really relevant to the topic, but thought it was quite interesting that a pupil-teacher relationship, as it were... could work!
No.

I've never had any good looking teachers either. Maybe just one or two. Not that I would have gone out with them anyways, but yeah..

One of my old teachers (male) might be coming to visit me! He is hot!

I have a few friends that are teachers and apparently it is allowed 2 years after the pupil left the school.
Who cares go for it damm wish I did lol
If you asked me this question a couple of years ago i would've said yes id go out with my teacher! I had a huge crush on my history teacher who was funny and good looking, 33 years old at the time.. still like him, but im over him in terms of madly inlove with him! : P
I have one teacher who is pretty young-ish and good looking-ish and all teh girls flirt with him, and it's pretty gross. They go all giggly and just stand there lapping up every word he says.
