I'm going to go with it depends on the type of guy. It may be his way of being affectionate - but i can't say. It's not one rule for all though.

Definitely depends on the guy, though the general rule would be "yes, if he thinks that, he probably just sees you as a friend"...

Unless you know the guy well, never take actions for granted, though - I've got a habit of hugging female friends and calling them "hun"...I'd still do exactly the same thing if I wanted to get closer to them, but admittedly I can see it giving girls a bit of a hard time figuring me out :rolleyes:

If they wanted to figure me out, of course :redface:

it could be a friendly gesture, but then it could be you're reading too much significance into it, but on the other hand as he likes you maybe he felt awkward around you so settled for some form of contact.. its hard to say really.. we need more info

I'm in the same position too I think...

A guy I know (and really fancy) kept on tapping me one night telling me some other bloke was 'checking me out'. And the other day he greeted me with a hug and a kiss on the cheek... Then later on was getting stay hairs off my face. I have no idea if he's flirting... being friendly or what... I'm so utterly useless. I'm not used to straight guys...

depends some lads who arent very mature do it to try and get some attention from a girl to make sure they pay attention. Some males may just do it coz they see you as a mate.
