    hey!

    What in your view were the short-term impacts of the Cuban missile crisis?

    this is my A2 history part A coursework question and i'm soooooooo stuck please help!

    1. USA faced down Russia that was preparing to install mid-range ballistic missiles nearly in silos built 90 miles from Florida.

    2 . Kennedy blockaded Cuba, and confronted Soviet supply ships carrying the missles.

    3. Premiere Kruschev could have used his submarines to attack U.S. blockade ships, or order the supply ships to not stand to, or reverse court, but to continue on to Cuban ports, that would have forced the USA to sink the ships, perhaps starting World War Three.

    4. Kennedy showed he was not afraid to stand up to Soviets to protect U.S. interests, he invoked the Old Monroe Doctrine that said European powers should not get involved in alliances with South American countries.

    5. Americans prepared for war, school kids practiced taking cover, people in USA started building bomb shelters.
