    What is
    2 root 2 times -root2
I know it equals 8, but what does it equal in roots? If that makes sense.
    eg: 2root4 + 4root4 = 6root4 (write it like that) not 12.

    The answer is -4.......root2*-root2 = -2 and -2*2 = -4 = -root16

Could you tell me the question more clearly as it is either:

    1) The information is:
    2 Xsqrt(2) X sqrt(2)

If you times the square roots of anything you get the number being rooted in this case

    sqrt(2) X sqrt(2) = 2

You then have the orignal times 2 at the beginning of the question which comes to 4 (not 8 so then we try the other meaning of the information)

    2) the information is:
    2 X sqrt(2) X -sqrt(2)

The same rule of timezing roots applys but you also use a possitive times a negative = a negative which comes out as -4

Where did you get 8 from?
Could you use this calculator to show me what the question really is?
