with the estimate it said something around £4,500 but when i go to apply the estimate at the end says like £3,500 for my maintenance. this doesnt even cost my living for halls.
my parents earn 41,000

Are you sure your estimate didn't say 'UP TO £4,500' as that will most probably be the max you can get (if your parents earn under 25,000) However, if your parents earn 41,000 you will be entitled to less. Ring them if you have any questions.

I think the main word here is 'estimate'. I think there's a legal section on the calculator saying that if you are entitled to less than it predicts, then they aren't liable.
