I have a friend who was approached to pose for them but she was all like :hand:

They're just boobs. In many European countries women can have them out at the beach. There is nothing scandalous about them. It's naive to imagine that they will inspire a sexual desire in children which are largely incapable of feeling them.

No, we must ban all erotic material for the good of all mankind's morality. There shall only be IVF in the future, sex is the work of the devil!

Absolutely! Especially not in such a widely advertised newspaper like the Sun which have millions of readers!
Maybe Dave Cam should concentrate on banning offensive material like this instead of mucking up the rest of the gov

GENIOUS!! i totaly agree, Cameron should focus all his time and attention on banning page 3 girls from the sun
thats MUCH more important than saving the economy and ensuring the UKs economic position and ensuring we dont go under like greece and ireland

I have taken my children abroad many times, and many times there have been women who are topless. Therefore they have already seen plenty of boobs.I think that us British are far too uptight when it comes to the human body!.The women in the Sun with their breasts out arent forced into doing it, thats what they want to do so let them.

this.

In the sun they have page 3 topless girls and on the sun website they have girls entering the competition to be a page 3 girl, and viewers rating their pictures. I think its degrading of women and should not be allowed. Why is it in these magazines when little children could see them advertised in shops or laying aroung their house? I wont even get started on lads mags, but not newspapers! I think this should be made illegal who agrees?

I don't really see how it's degrading when the women choose to appear on page 3.

People read The Sun!? :O

Also, atleast it has created jobs, along with all other topless modelling.

This is why a broadsheet is better.

I wouldn't call it a newspaper...

Anyway, how is it degrading to women? They're the ones who choose to pose topless.
You should have added gender to your polll; judging by the responses, almost all males are saying no, and females are roughly evenly split (which probably reflects the vote in parliament last time someone wanted to ban it...).

Oh someone think of the children!

Exactly what came to my mind.

Anyway I clicked on the topic thinking 'this has to be a troll'. Unfortunately, I think the OP is deadly serious. What a shame.

Ban this, ban that, ban that other thing tooo!!! ...

Just because something is found to be offensive by a person, or group of people does not mean it should be banned. That goes against everything a democratic society which values freedom of speech and freedom of expression stands for.

If the parents don't want their kids to come across such stuff, they should protect them from it. Its not the state's job to do that.

Granted, vulnerable children deserve state protection; and arguably children of readers of The Sun could be deemed 'vulnerable'. However, Page 3 girls are the least of my worries here.

Would the same girls who agree with this also agree with banning the chipindales and other such things degrading to men.

You are all fooled in a patriarchal society. And men.

Well thank God you're here to show us the light.
Let's go further than that. The Sun should be banned altogether. It's glorified toilet paper.

And in Africa, there are a number of naked tribes, but that doesn't mean that it would be socially acceptable here. Other parts of the world have different cultures and shouldn't really be playing a part in this discussion.

Let's look at this logically, sex, porn and topless girls are inevitable, the British are far too uptight when it comes to the human anatomy, If you can't face a pair of tits then you're just stupid. So it's ok for a man to be topless, yet when a woman appears topless it's controversial, what the ****? Lad mags, newspaper they're essentially the same idea, one just reports the news, whereas the other reports lads banter. Wow, you if you think my attitude stinks you obviously haven't been on 4chan . Oooh you clicked report, oh wow I'm so scared oooh wow, grow up kid.

It is actually more acceptable for a man to be topless than for women. You see topless men walking about in the summer, you see topless men when you go swimming. How many topless women have you seen enjoying the sun on a busy high street in the UK?

I don't really have an opinion on page 3 girls. I didn't even know they existed until I was about 11 and in actual fact it was because another 11 year old boy in my class at school brought it into school and all of the other boys were practically drooling over her. But I suppose by the time you're in year 7, you know how to use the internet and topless girls on page 3 isn't exactly the worst thing you could access.
