For my A2 chemistry investigation, I reacted Propanone with Iodine in the presence of HCl as a catalyst, my teacher seems to think the iodopropanone should have been disposed in a specific way( for my write up) however, during the class she said just mix with lots of water and put it down the sink....

Any ideas what she wants me to write?

You could quench the reaction with sodium hydrogen carbonate to stop anymore from being produced, but yeah, I've just been pouring it down the sinks with plenty of water
