When do we start the offers thread?
I'd say it doesn't really make sense to start one before end of October/beginning of November, does it? I've never heard someone getting an offer before November, but maybe I've never really paid any attention

Just created a thread for this but thought I'd get more advice here, so if anyone can help, then please do

I know i can't get into a top uni without AS Level Maths and Psychology may be seen as weak but I have AAB In Psychology Economics and Geography and will be predicted A*AA or A*A*A, would i have a chance applying to Surrey, Royal Holloway, Sussex? And since Nottingham don't ask for A level maths, although it's preferred would it be worth a shot?

Any advice on what choices would be good if you don't agree or just general suggestions?

Hey guys, I'm predicted A*AA in maths, psychology and biology respectively, and have an A at AS economics, I have AAB at A level. I'm taking a year out to resit some modules, do you think that in order to get an offer from UCL and whatnot, would I need to be predicted higher/should I carry on economics to A2 level? Thanks!

on ucas do you have to put all your choices on at the same time???

I heard that if you apply before October 15th its obvious you are going to Oxvbridge so places like durham are less inclined to make you an offer

Has anyone read 'The White Man's Burden' by W.Easterly?

I'm going to start reading it sometime this week, but it looks as if it's going to be a massive piece of anti-capitalist propaganda?

Anyone applying to the UCL Economics Course with the Year Abroad?
Yup, and here's an e-mail from when I asked about applying to L100, L101 or both.

If you wish to apply for both courses, you should make separate
applications as they are processed as separate courses. There are 20
places available on the L101 course.

Applying for both courses would not affect your chances of success, but
please note that competition for places on these courses is severe. We
    receive approximately 3000 applications for 200 places (180 L100 and 20
L101), with the majority of these being from suitably qualified
applicants. Therefore, meeting our academic entry requirements does not
guarantee that an application will be successful.
    Hope that helps

Thanks, so there is an interview for the L101 course? I can't find any information on the site. Half the links are broken!

You are going to make a new thread ?

Is it going to be like the Economics Applicant Thread UCAS 2011 last year. That was very helpful as we were able to see who got what offers and when and with what grades.

I trolled through the Economics Applicant Thread UCAS 2011 thread and collected all the dates of offers made by UCl, War, LSE, Bath and York because they are the ones I am considering. The earliest offer I found was 29th october by York.

In case it helps others ile post my findings:

    York
    1 offer late Oct
    4 Early Nov
3 From mid Nov to Mid Dec.

    UCL
10 offers from the 10th of Nov to the end of Nov
    2 in Dec

    Warwick
7 offers from 11th Nov to end of Nov
    1 in Dec
    2 on 5th jan

    LSE
2 on the 26th of Nov
2 on the 10th of Dec
    1 on 17th Dec

    Bath
    1 on 31 Oct
4 from 11th Nov to the end
    1 on 8th Dec

Generally UCL/LSE/Warwick/Bath give many offers throughout November.

Nice! Posting on the Offer Holder thread instead of the Applicants thread, brings us one step closer to university

Btw., have you got your reference yet?

I'm predicted an A*AA for A2 (im not sure about the AS Further Maths prediction yet). How does everyone else's schools make their predictions? Does the 90%+ rule apply for A* predictions in your schools?

Yep We should just keep it no discussion do you think? So people can just see what's happening with the offers...

I haven't got my reference, but got my predictions - A*A*A* Do you have your reference?

Yeah I think it will be good to make a new one to see how the offers/rejections go...

That's interesting, scary to think we could know so soon though

I'll get my reference by Friday, quite excited to send off my UCAS form

Yea I'd say no discussion otherwise the thread gets to messy. I suppose we could continue talking on here and use the other thread just for the offers

Not yet, I hope it will be an A though if Maths is an A*!

Have you got your predictions too?
