In terms of the UCAS application, can you put your UMS scores in the other box?
What do universities prefer your UMS marks or grades for the UCAS application?

Also i was wondering if you could enter your grade and ums in the 'other box' Grade and then your UMS MARK/the total marks available
    e.g.

    'A 92/100'

or do you just enter '92'

    Thanks

    HI!

I'm applying to Cambridge (St Catz), LSE, Warwick, Nottingham and Bristol
    AS: AAAAA
    A Level Predictions: A*A*A*A*A*
    GCSEs: 11A*

This is my first post on this thread, but I remember seeing before that there was some sort of interview discussion forum (or website?)? It was linked on the first post by Tateco, I can't find it I wanted to join in! If anyone could link it, that would be helpful :excited:

    :ciao:
Wow, amazing predictions! What subjects are you studying?

Entering "A 92/100" is probably better, and yes, in the 'other' box is fine.

Universities will probably prefer to see your UMS, but only if you're consistent, and include all of them, not just the ones you think will make you look good, otherwise its clear that you're cherry picking certain results.

Same here! Swap Warwick with Bath
ahh decided to change Warwick to Southampton
    too competitive unis, apparently.
    sending ucas off soon, worried!

    (Original post by Trizzle)
Nice! Which collgege at Cambridge are you applying to?
    (Original post by Groat)
All my universities are A*AA, too.

    Which Cambridge college?
    King's

    (Original post by giveandtake)
This is scarily similar to my situation! I think that if you're looking at top universities, you won't be satisfied settling for a uni with lower requirements. So I'm going for the topish ones - no offers = gap year!
that is exactly how I feel! but yes, I've changed Warwick to Southampton (not too happy, but I need to play it safe I guess).
i don't want to take a gap year though.. and it's going to be such slim chances of me getting offers

My GCSEs are only slightly better than that.

I probably won't do too well at the interview...in the sense that they're going to think I'm strange

Looking back at my personal statement, I said some wierd thing in there too :teehee:

Your GCSEs must be fine then! THEY ARE NOT BAD THEN!
They can see you've progressed upwards since then anyway!

Strange is good? Atleast you'll stand out! :P
Just make sure your points are valid

    hi everyone!
i want to apply for the economics at the following unis :
    Nottingham (A*AA-AAA)
    Bristol (A*AA-AAA)
    Surrey (AAA-AAB)
    Essex (ABB)
    York (AAA-AAB)

At AS my grades were A in maths, A in physics A in ICT and A in history.
I dropped ICT and am predicted AAA. I did pretty badly at GCSE's compared to many other Economics applicants (9A's, 2B's and a C)

taking into consideration my AS grades, my predicted grades and my GCSE's, am i likely to recieve any offers from the universities?

also, will the fact that i have no relevant work experience hinder my application?

    thanks a lot

    King's
Aaaah! Another King's applicant. I think you're the first I've seen. Good Luck!

I think I've given up on Cambridge anyway now after I realised I'd rather go Bath. (I know everyone on this thread will call me crazy)

In other words I'm not much competition.

...I think I may be the only one with less than 95% in economics applying for Catz -_-

GCSEs, bad. Doing some rough calculations puts my UMS almost exactly the same as Tateco's >_>

Were you able to take 5 AS at school or did you have to self tutor one?
    Why the >_> face!

Tateco's UMS average is excellent (and so is yours)! :hugs:

There seems to be lots with much better, including you

My fifth AS was really bad. So it's not as good as it looks. And I'm not good at interviews.

Good thing I'm getting ready for a gap year, just in case

96.4% average (what Tateco has) is excellent, though.
