Out of these choices for Econ, which would be the best to choose in terms of job prospects for investment banking?

    Economics - Southampton
    Economics - City
    Economics - Queen Mary
    Industrial Economics - Nottingham

    Thanks
    Notts.

As a parent of an Economics Applicant 2012,who doesn't use TSR(!), I have dipped in and out of this thread over the last few months and have read many of your posts. Just to say I am really pleased to see that you have an offer for Economics. I have seen at first hand how tortuous this UCAS application can be and how long the wait can be for a course as competitive as Economics. Congratulations and fingers crossed for the courses you are still waiting to hear from.
Ah thanks that's very nice of you, I have been a prolific poster on this thread (probably too much) but it's nice to finally not be "the one without an offer", hope your son/daughter gets what they want too!

Reason for my Nottingham offer being less than everyone else?

I got AAA or AABB as oppossed to A*AA or A*ABB

Or could it be a mistake?

Their standard offer is A*AA-AAA so you obviously just got the lower half, be grateful!

    Nottingham offer as well!

Only AAA though, weird since I don't think my application was as good as the rest of you, but I'm not complaining. Will probably be my insurance now. Just waiting on Bath and Warwick...

Realise that I'm a bit late to the party but... Nottingham offer! Would have been nice if it was a bit lower though, has anyone got less than A*AA or equivalent?

EDIT: Just seen the most recent posts, there clearly are a few going around!

How big would you say the gap is between Econ at Notts and Econ and Warwick?

Also, is the straight Economics BA or BsC? Or does it depend on the individual modules which you take?

    Well done everyone

    Depends on modules.

There is a gap but it's easy to overestimate gaps and come to ridiculous conclusions. At the end of the day it's going to be fairly insignificant and I don't really see what difference it would make to your life going to one instead of the other, unless there were some employers that favoured students from that university in particular.

Whether you get a BA or a BSc is dependent on the modules you take, they are both L100.
