I've just printed a job application form off for Toby Carvery.

One of the questions to answer is
"What is your favourite meal, and why" - Not at all relevant to anything I'm sure, but still!

    What would you put?
If I put carverys it sounds like its what they want to hear surely?

What a stupid question... You can say something lame like 'Roast dinners are my favourite because it's a time where the family all sit around together and share some quality time.'.

    Look at their website.
    Fanatical about food quality?
    Passionate about people?
    Serious about service?
Further they mention "freshly roasted meat", "delicious seasonal vegetables" and "a good old fashioned warm welcome"
These are the 3 questions they ask on their job application section and elements important to the business.
"What is your favourite meal, and why" has to reflect one of these questions and elements. So make sure your answer reflects that.
On top of that. why you want to work that and does that reflect these questions?

My favourite meal would indeed be fresh seasonal and only be perfect when enjoyed with friends and family. My grandma's roast springs to mind, they got fresh meat from the local farmer and had their own vegetable garden and the family would be together.

    Hope that's enough inspiration.
