So, I've been looking to compete in motorsport for sometime and after doing a bit of research I quite like the look of Hillclimbs and Sprints. Was wondering if anyone here competes and what exactly the rules are on entering a car? (I haven't got a blue book yet!)

    Pros/Cons/Experiences would be great too!

    After having a brief read of the MSA 2011 Blue Book, I found this;

"Where events occur on private land, i.e. where the
insurance provisions of the Road Traffic Act do not
apply, competitors are protected by the MSA’s public
    liability insurance.
It is impractical for the MSA to provide competitors with
cover where any part of an event takes place on the
public highway in circumstances to which the Road
Traffic Act applies. To cover liability under the Road
Traffic Act, competitors are expected to make their own
arrangements by the extension of existing motor
policies. However, Jardine Lloyd Thompson are in a
position to assist clubs organising rallies to provide
    Road Traffic Act cover."

Now, does this mean, that as long as a car is trailered to an event and is not driven on Public roads it is not need to be covered by an existing motor insurance policy?

    Yes.

As part of your netry fee covers the insurance for the event.

I was planning to do one of these at some point(hillclimbs) on the bike but haven't got around to buying the stuff i need...

I'd be using the 300cc 2 stroke offroader because it weighs like 100kg but i need to get road wheels/tyres for it and to buy a set of leathers as well...

Although the insurance is there if you crash and your car plows into a child not if you crash into a tree. That's just bad luck and please move your car out of the way...

Awesome video. I just need a 6 foot swinging arm for the KTm and i'm there.

Already got the offroad riding kit.

Tbh some of the bits on the enduro course have been like that and doing it on a bike with a normal length swinging arm is tough.

One time i flipped off the back of the bike in spectacular fashion on a similiar steep hill(a lot shorter though so easier~) and narrowly avoided being crushed to death by it as it almost landed on top of me...
