 Is there any girls here would like to join the gym to lose a bit of weight or get toned up?? but cant get around to actually doing it?! I really want to join the gym to lose a bit of weight but i cant get started or motivated! help!

join the club and i'm afraid i cant think of much to motivate you
try setting yourself deadlines or sommat
the only time i properly lost some weight was when my best mate started dating this guy i liked (she didnt know) and i stopped eating for a week
(i lost half a stone) until she took me out for a meal and i stuffed myself silly

well atleast youve got a fair bit of time
try to eat something small eg ceral at night instead of a big meal
eat little and often tis the key to sucess as it keeps up your metabolism

Yea thats true but i dont wana starve myself!!
What i plan to do is:

Have cereal in the morns with a small glass of o.j
Soup at lunch
Small piece of meat and huge portions of vegs for tea
and eat nuttin after 6pm apart from sum fruit and drink plenty of water..
I will try to walk for 30 mins gradually building the time up

That shud work??? shud it????

sounds like a plan, although i would swap the soup with the meat and veg so you eat less in the evening when you're less likely to be working it off
good luck
i'm off to the gym

(remember its not unusual to gain the 'freshers fifteen' pounds in the first year of uni, i guess it must be the same for those in their last year)

It's not really motivation, but take your favourite music to the gym with you - this helps me while I'm running, as it takes my mind off the actual exercise, and keeps me going for longer. good luck!

Just go to the gym once your there it won't ever be as bad as you expect. Or you could do a sport you enjoy as part of a university club or something, that should make sure you go.

The funny thing is I am training to be a PE teacher! but i just wana get all toned up and get rid of the excess weight, mayb i shud bring music along wif me? should i bring a friend? or would that lead to being competitive against each other?????

Have hot water and lemon in a morning, then have porridge for breakfast as it fills you up until lunch at least, and avoid bread and other white carbs at all costs. Drink AT LEAST 2 litres of water a day and go brisk walking for 45 mins a day, jog as much as you can of this.
Do this for 3 days and then you will feel light, fresh and de-bloated - the 3 days will keep tou motivated because its such a short term goal, and by the time you've got there, the results are so fast you will keep going!! Then you can carry on with exercising and healthy eating.

Also PILATES - it really works, 3 sessions and your waist literally tightens up.

Why don't you make yourself a promise that you'll go to the gym for at least 10 mins once a week. If you exceed that target then you won't feel guilty for not going at all. See if you can persuade friends/family to go with you.

I like this idea.

I'm too quick to get bogged down in guilt for not doing a full hour, rather than appreciating the fact Iv done twenty mins. Better than nothing!!
